Parties and entertainment everynight, climaxing with that private Kenny Chesney concert on that remote island. Would you go again on a caribbean cruise with Kenny Chesney? The marketing for this cruise was misleading, believe me I didn't expect to meet Kenny, get an autograph or anything of that nature. What I did expect was a private island concert. But the most disappointing moment was Chris Cagle on stage (of the Kenny Chesney cruise) saying that if this was a cruise filled with all his most devoted fans that he would have done better than Kenny. He would have been on the ships with us andhangin' out. With all you so-called Kenny fans clapping/chanting/agreeing with Chris. I had to leave his show, he was totally pissing me off and so were all the Kenny "fans". I understand if people were disappointed but seriously Chrisshow some respect to people that have achieved something that you can only dream of achieving yourself! Good luck with that. Kenny Chesney Cruise Comment - Thur 13 Apr 06 First Name: Lisa Cruise Comments: My sister-in-law invited me to go on this cruise with her. I love Kenny too and jumped at the chance to go. We left the kids with the husbands and drove an hour to Port Canaveral and off we went. The 1st day we saw Chris Cagle talking to Cledus T. Judd below us on the deck by the pool. We went down there & talked to Chris and got our picture taken with him. What a nice guy. We saw him that night in concert and he was excellent even thoughthe seas were rough and Chris was sea-sick, he still rocked. Tuesday we had a wonderful day lounging on the beaches of Coco Cay. Then Wednesday we did some shopping in Nassau & got ready for the concert. We didn't get very close to thestage and didn't even bring our cameras because the website said we were not suppose to. I thought Big Kenny was good, Dierks Bentley was AWESOME and Kenny Chesney was excellent. I thought the beach they had the concert on was wonderful. My only complaint would be that I wished Kenny would have sang longer. I loved the concerts every night and thought Little Big Town put on the best concert on board the ship. The food, drinks and entertainment on board the SOS was excellent and I couldn't have asked for a better cruise. You know the old saying, you can't please everybody. Kenny Chesney Cruise Comment - Mon 27 Mar 06 First Name: laura jo Cruise Comments: i would like to say that the cruise was mine and my boyfriends first time to just get away by ourselves after 4 1/2yrs. my boyfriend paid for the cruise as a gift to me (xmas/valentines). i love kenny's music style and him. bonus was the people that were going to play on the ship. neither one ofus have ever been on a cruise and i will say that i loved it. i meet so many people that i talk to on the boards at kcofc and i would not trade that for anything. we took day for day on the cruise and mingled with other and sometimes just walked around and enjoyed the view and peacefullness that wasaround us. i would love to go again, and meet more people. i did not expect much, because when you do, something always goes bad. i think what made the cruise better for us is the people we meet and the pictures we took. bonus there was a concert. As with any concert there willalways be whiners. The Nashville Hitmakers showed where alot of the songs really come from. Little Big Town put on a great show, as did Blue County.Catherine Britt had a kicking fiddle player. Hot Apple Pie were hot!! Julie Roberts is a real trooper, fractured ankle and all she still was on the ship and getting dinner in the buffet line like all the other smart cruisers-main dining room was too stuffy. Chris Cagle put on a great closing night show and stayed till 4:00 am signing autographs. If anyone thought Kenny Chesney would stay on the island for everyone to get an autograph-they must be insane. I have been a KC fan for about 7years now and the minute I got an email about the cuisse I knew I had to be there. After all, this was a once in a lifetime experience. I didn't have any expectations other than what was promised....a secret island concert by Kenny. First off, it was NOT a secret island. It was a roped off section of the Atlantis resort. Ok, so what..I can get over that part. I have to say that I was very disappointed in the amount of time that Kenny sang. We paid a ton of money for this cruise. This crusie was not given to me, I paid for it and have a right to voice my opion if I feel like I didn't get was I paid for....I'm not whinign about it. This cruise cost three times what a normal cruise is worth. Attending the concert was some of KC's biggest fans as it went on sale to his fan Club first..which I am a member of. I surely didn't expect him to hang around after the concert and sign autographs for hours but I did expect him to atleast sing longer than he did. I know there are die hard Kenny fans thatwill defend him till the end and no matter what his does, people will agree with it and never say a bad word about him. I hope if there is another cruise in the future, he atleast does a better job at acknowledging his loyal fans and sings a bit longer....after all, he WAS in his "element". and have been posted here as they were submitted. Kenny Chesney Cruise Comment - Tues 14 Mar 06 First Name: jen Cruise Comments: The Kenny Chesney Caribbean Cruise Getaway was the BEST timeof my life! I, too, was on the SOS. It was so much fun meeting and hanging out with other Kenny fans. It was like instant family. Personally, I did not run into one rude person. Everyone was always laughing and having a great time. I am so happy that Kenny brought us all together. As far as the Kenny concert itself -- OMG -- it was awesome! I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could have been disappointed. When he took the stage in those bright orange shorts and flip-flops, I almost died! It wassuch a fun and relaxed atmosphere. It was so different than a "regular" concert, and I was glad! I really felt like we were all just a bunch of friends hanging out on the beach, Kenny and his band included! For part of his encore, he sang "On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful" for the first time ever live! That was such a special moment. And, who wasn't brought to tears to hear him sing "Old Blue Chair" where it was meant to be heard! I was lucky enough to be up front, and Kenny was laughing and joking around with everyone. I also commented to my husband how cool it was that he played up to the people in the back. If anyone wants to argue that point, just look at my pics, he is pointing, looking, and laughing to those way behind me. And, he signed a ton of items. I was smushed against the stage for quite sometime as I was waiting for him to finish! I booked this cruise as a really cool and different vacation, with my favorite artist performing on the beach. What I got was so much more! It was a fabulous time. If Kenny ever did this again, I'd sign up in a heartbeat. However, I believe this was truly a once in a life time event! Kenny Chesney Cruise Comment - Tues 14 Mar 06 First Name: Mary....aka: kennycrazy923 Cruise Comments: I just can't say enough about this cruise. Kenny deserves abig THANK YOU for putting this together. I'm a loner by nature and not a big drinker by any means, but I did manage to have the time of my life. The service on this ship was fantastic. Food and drink flowed day and night. The entertainment was funny as all heck. (Who can ever forget the "dance maniac" or the pretty legs contest?) The artists on the ship were amazing, and Kenny was just as happy and outgoing as I have always seen him. Big Kenny was way outthere, Dierks Bently was great and Uncle Kracker was a welcomed surprise. This was my first cruise and I must say, that given the chance, I will be on the next one. Kenny has always said he had the best fans in the world and I for one would have to agree. There were people from all over just having a good time together. For those that didn't have a good time, better luck next time. Maybe you'll go in with a little less of an expectation next time. It isn't possible for a big star like Kenny to mix and mingle with the crowd or sign autographs for everyone. Just be thankful you had the ability to go. Many couldn't. You can sitthere and pick apart the whole cruise, but in doing so, you will miss the whole point of the cruise. We got to see Kenny in a setting that he loves, under the stars with warm breezes blowing and 6,000 of his (and now our) closest friends.To me, that was worth every penny. If I were "forced" to voice a complaint about this cruise, I would have just 2. 1) It wasn't long enough. I would have liked a little more time to explore Nassau. and 2) the water in our bathroom really started to smell by Thursday afternoon. When I firststarted planning my trip, it was all about seeing Kenny on the beach. Life doesn't get any better than that! As the trip got closer, I realized that it was about so much more than just the island concert. It was about meeting and making new friends, and all the great experiences I had. I made new frinds thatI know are going to last a lifetime. The music on the boat was incredible and the entertainers were all very down to earth and so happy to be there with us.Chris Cagle was so much fun. I met him at the Radisson, the night before the cruise and he was really great to all of us. His band members were alot of fun too. The trip to Cococay was amazing, what a beautiful place! Kenny Chesney Cruise Comment - Tues 14 Mar 06 First Name: Frency Cruise Comments: Everyone has a right to voice their opinions (or type themwhatever the case may be) and I respect all of the previous comments and negative vibes - this is America. At first, I felt urged to slam a few of the previous posters. Luckily for everyone who reads this, I am going to refrain. I feel sorry for anyone who believes that this cruise was not memorable or spectacular. I am not a hard core Kenny Chesney fan. Yes, I love his Be As You Are CD and Sherry's Living in Paradise is one of my favorite songs. I joined the fan club before the cruise so that I could discuss cruise topics on the boards. Little did I know that this step would lead me on a journey filled with awesome concerts, a week of relaxation, the party to end all parties and friendshipsthat I will cherish forever. I went on the cruise because I thought it would be really cool be be able to tell my future kids and grandkids that "I Was There" on the island with Kenny Chesney - listening to his music, sitting on the beach (which btw I did, after a few songs of Kenny's, I snuck out of the concert area and sat right besidethe ocean on the sand, alone and just enjoyed the music). Talk about awesome. I wish others had been able to "experience" that part of the concert. Feeling as if Kenny was singing to me. I wasn't worried about being front row. I wasn't worried about getting a stupid autograph that I could get simply by mailing a shirt into the fan club and requesting his autograph. I didn't care how long itwas going to last. I felt completely relaxed, I was "living in paradise". I was Sherry, if only for a moment. I'm saddened that all of the cruisers didn't have the awesome time that I had. However, I am not going to let this get me down. I will continue to call my cruise friends and discuss our amazing journey and how we discovered what it's like to connect to to an amazing group of friends. Though I'm still not Kenny's #1 fan and won't compete with another fan club member to get a meet and greet with him, I will forever be grateful to him for giving us this opportunity. There were so many wonderful people on this trip and most of us made lasting friendships. I did not feel misled at all by MusicToday. What I expected from this trip is what I got. Kenny played great music at the concert, he let us know that he appreciated his fans and I really felt like he was glad to be there even though he didn't feel well. The ship entertainment was great as well. The only downside to this cruise was the rough seas the first night which we got over quickly and all the whiners. Need I say more, it was a once in a lifetime event to experience the camaraderie of two ships as they set sail for an adventure to Coco Cay and to Paradise Island for Big Kenny, Dierks Bentley and of course Kenny Chesney. I was on the SOS "The Party Ship" and enjoyed the talented artists that performed and then during the day time would meet with any one and every one and just had a great time. Kenny did a great job at the concert as well as the promotors and everyone else involved in putting this cruise together. All I'm hearing is the negative side of so many people that weren't there or expected way too much! Chris Cagle, Julie Roberts, Cledus T. Judd, Blue County, Catherine Britt, the Nashville Hitmakers, Hot Apple Pie and Little Big Town were all exceptional in meeting their fans, and made a lot more fans because they were all down to earth. This cruise did cost more than a normal cruise, but don'tforget how many performers we had! My absolute favorite group was Little Big Town, I was very happily surprised to find an upcoming band that has the vocals and harmony of the older country groups. I enjoyed them tremendously. I have been a country music fan for well over 30 years and I would not have traded the week I spent on the SOS for any other vacation in the world. I made some wonderful, lifelong friends, and had the time of my life. Yes I would do it again in a heartbeat. If anyone excepted anything else, they should sit back and re-examine the concerts, the food, drinks, Kenny look-a-like contest, and all the other things that were going on. You couldn't have gotten all of this in any other place for the price you paid. Because no amount of money can buy friendships that will last forever, or just sitting with Chris Cagle andtalking, or meeting the other artists. I don't post much on Kenny Chesney Fan club site, but I ran across this and just had to add my two cents. I hope Kenny and other artists do this again, because I for one will be there andexpect nothing more than a regular concert. Then you will pleasantly surprised by all the extra fun you do have. Like others have stated, don't spend the money to go on the cruise, just buy a CD and go to a concert in your hometown. It is very kind of you. :) I was on the cruise....yes, a once in a lifetime event. The entire cruise was outstanding! There was round-the-clock food, drinks, entertainment. There was never enough time ...that's for certain. The cruise itself was wonderful...we had besutiful weather, nassau, bahamas, cocokay..private island,...yes it was.It was reserved for ONLY this concert. I would call that private. I wonder where some folks get their ideas...were they looking for Gilligan and the Skipper? You had Kenny Chesney, and yes...all of the opeing artists were also awesome. Kenny played great even being ill. I guess no one wanted to put that in their post. BUT he still performed and had a geat time doing so. I would beglad to send you some pics! It was an island beach party...I am sorry for those whom thought "private" meant he would sit and sing only to you. If you've been to one of his shows that's how the show always ends w/ everyone coming back out to sing together. He did sign more then 10 autographs. He signed at the stage and then when he went off stage he signed some more over by the fence. If your not in the fan club join it and send something in to be signed. He's one of the few artist who still does that. I hope people didn't actually think he could sign something for everybody and have a meet and greet w/ them. I'm not sure which ship you were on but I was on the SOS and had a blast. This trip was more then just a Kenny Concert. (that was just an added bonus). There was alot of other entertainment and alot of nice people on board. I think people came to the concert with unrealistic expectations. Music Today did the best they could with the amount of people he had to play for. I am a member of Kenny's Fan Club and there was a lot of discussion on there about the cruise. One girl wrote a letter to Kenny on the messgae board saying how he has forgotten his fans that got him where he was today. Kenny came on the boards himself and wrote a letter back to her. His performance was 80-90 minutes (normal concert time). He wasn't felling all that great that night (he had a boil on the back of his leg) but he still came out and did an 80 minutes show. He thanked the fans for coming "half way around the world to see him" during the show. I have talked to several people who have said that the show was awesome. There is no way that they could've pleased everybody that was there. I guess some people just look for the negative in everything instead of focusing on the positive. I'm gonna put a link to this page on the message boards so that more people can come on here and tell you what a great time they had. All the artists were great,but hot apple pie,chris, and the the nashville hitmakers were extraordinary. The cruise information was misleading it promised a private island and a once in a lifetine concert with kenny. Well to begin there was no island we put off on the shore of a public dock area of Paradise island with a little extra sand thrown on the ground and the stage at one end. All that was ok but kenny followed two opening acts who were very good then showed up and sang four songs by himself and three with Uncle Kracker and the show was finshed. He reluctantly signed about ten autographs for the fans near to the stage and left with no show of appreciation for us,the fans, who spent thousands of dollars because we were told that we were going to have a private concert with Kenny. We didn't know that the concert was going to last less than an hour and a half and not a place set up to meet and greet him . I am very dissapointed and disillusioned with Kenny. I feel cheated and scammed and will not recommend this kenny caribbean cruise to anyone. It was not amomorial event it was a sham. If you are a fan buy a concert ticket when he comes to your town he will entertain you more and you will save thousands of dollars left over to take a cruise of your liking another time. and have been posted here as they were submitted. That does sound quite out of the ordinary to promote one thing and deliver something totally different. Kenny Chesney Cruise Comment - Sat 4 Mar 06 First Name: Susanne Cruise Comments: I must say I was disappointed with Kenny and his concert, but had lots of fun on the Royal Caribbean Cruise itself. The concert should have been better organized on the sand of Paradise Island. Fans of all ages were pushing and stepping on others, with no concern. It could have been better if Kenny spent a little more time on the stage singing, but Uncle Kracker was a nice surprise. I thought the best on the boat was Hot Apple Pie, their concert was excellent. Chris Cagle was turning green if you know what I mean. Hope you feel better Chris, and of course Cledus kept all of us laughing. If the chance came to do it again, I would save my money. I suppose any event like this that is held for the first time is bound to have some problems and it sounds like there were a few. And I'm encouraging other fans who may have been on the Cruise and that find this site, to also add their comments here. We all know how Kenny strives to improve his concerts every year, so I have no doubt that if they have another Cruise next year, that changes will be made for the better.
